To all customers, associates, and friends of Tech City Bowl, 

It is now official; we really are closing this time! As we shared previously in October of 2022, we entered a lengthy process of evaluating options for the Tech City Bowl business, and we’ve made the difficult decision to close our doors after 67 years of serving the Kirkland and greater Seattle region. The decision to close has been very painful in large part to the incredible support from the community we’ve had the privilege to serve.

The business has been operated continuously by the Gaines Family since the early 50’s where our first bowling center was in downtown Kirkland. The property that TBI sits on today was purchased by Jim and Frieda Gaines in the late 50’s and shortly thereafter the first phase of Tech City, formally Totem Bowl, was established. 

As we prepare for the closure of the business, our last day of operation being Saturday May 18th, we hope you join us in celebrating the many memories associated with this space. This bowling center represents a building that has brought together a wide and diverse community for over 6 decades and we’d love nothing more than to celebrate with you in a space that has meant so very much to all of us. 

Lastly, we cannot thank our customers, suppliers and associates enough for the support you showed over these many years, it’s very humbling. Our business has been through many ups and downs, especially this past 4 years, but you’ve stuck with us and for that we are forever grateful.
